River Road Escapes is located on River Road, just a block down from the Tipis in New Braunfels, TX.  It is such a wonderful location for a group to meet and carve out a weekend away.  Recently, I invited a group of girlfriends to spend the weekend with me for my 44^th birthday at the Escapes.  We stayed in Water Haus, which sleeps up to 12 guests.  It has 2 master bedrooms and a bunk room and two full baths.  It also has a wonderful back deck that overlooks the river and a side yard that has a hammock and a cool fire pit.

Each guest volunteered ahead of time to cook a meal.  So each of us was only responsible for prepping one meal and could focus on relaxing and connecting the rest of the time.  The weather was perfect!  We took camp chairs and a folding table down to the river and just sat and chatted, drank some wine, and laughed and laughed together.  The best part is for an off-season weekend, the price is right!  Especially when you split the cost with a few friends.  I highly recommend this type of rejuvenation with your friends of family – it doesn’t require a whole lot of money or planning, but it can completely revitalize your life!



 

River Road Escapes is 3 large houses right on the Guadalupe River.  Water Haus sleeps up to 12, and Earth Haus and Air Haus sleep up to 18.  You can also rent the “half-houses” sleeping up to 6 for a more affordable price.
