Perhaps you are looking for a fun and easy day trip?  We packed up this past Saturday and drove to Boerne for a little adventure.  We rolled up to the Cibolo Nature Center around 2 p.m. and they stayed open until 5 p.m.  The weather was perfect for us to walk around and take in all the natural beauty.  This is such a kid-friendly place!  A wonderful space to play tag or hide and seek, the park has a low water creek to cross on fun stepping stones, huge trees to climb, man-made structures to climb all over, and seriously, everywhere you look, there is a photo opportunity!  I kept telling my kids to stop so I could take their picture, and I was driving them crazy!





There are 4-5 walking trails marked and none of them is over ½ a mile, so perfect for kids to stay engaged and not get tired of walking.  We played follow the leader and tag and everyone had so much fun.  On our way back, we got a little off the path and had to walk across the creek over some branches and stones and my older two boys both put their feet in the water by accident.  So I recommend bringing a change of socks and shoes!



There was also a cool kids’ area where the boys could dig in the dirt and even play Gaga ball.  When we left, we drove just a few miles up the road for amazing pizza at Fralo’s in Boerne.  We sat outside and enjoyed the remaining light of the day.  Overall, it was a wonderful family day, and I highly recommend this experience for your family!
